Course 28C: Trip to the National Memorial Arboretum as part of
The World Congress of Spiritualists 2018

During your visit to Stansted Hall for the 2018 World Congress the Spiritualists’ National Union are providing an optional extra trip to the heart of the English countryside to allow you to share and experience our spiritual Peace Walk and service, joining Spiritualists around the world in one intent - Peace to the World.

In 2010 members of the Spiritualists’ National Union agreed to commission a special memorial at The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to provide a focus for Spiritualists from around the world who had given service to their country or greater humanity. This memorial was designed, built and dedicated in 11 months with all the funds required raised through donation and public subscription. In 2012 the Spiritualists’ National Union established an annual Peace service held on the first Saturday in July and this through the service provides a moving and fitting opportunity to demonstrate the principles of Spiritualism and bring peace into our world. This is followed by a walk for peace lead by a piper to the Spiritualists’ Memorial. The walk allows us to reflect on bringing peace into our world, and enables a powerful energy of unification between participants. On reaching the memorial we hold an additional short service to rededicate our memorial and our individual efforts in this worthy cause.

The National Memorial Arboretum provide a modern facility to enjoy a day in the heart of the English countryside and many of the memorials provide a poignant and moving focus on the efforts of earlier generations which serves to remind us of our responsibility to build a better world.
