Minister Martin Colclough

Martin was born in Stoke on Trent, England. He had some experiences as a child, which were passed off as being nothing more than a child’s imagination. From the age of 15 to 40 he spent his adult life in the army, serving in many countries throughout the world. It was whilst in the army he began to realise that things happening around him were not an over active imagination. He began reading books and studying spiritual phenomena.

It wasn’t until after his father passed to spirit that he went to his first spiritual church in his home town. It was here that he joined the open circle, became a member of the church and was asked to join the development groups. He developed quite quickly, and was soon invited to join his teacher on shared platforms. It was during one of these services he realised he needed to study more, and he started to take the courses offered by the SNU. This led to him joining the SNU, and taking their awards, which in turn led to him joining the Training & Awards Committee where he served from 2003 to 2013. He was initially an ordinary member, and then took on the role of secretary, followed by Vice-Chairman and Chairman. Martin was also the Chairman of the Accreditation Committee responsible for the committees within the Union that offer training and education. He went through the college tutor training scheme, and has now worked with several tutors on their courses. He teaches in his local churches and centres including the AFC Stafford, and has recently started to teach in Switzerland.

Martin enjoys teaching people and helping them to achieve their own goals. He believes that everyone can develop their gifts and find their place within spiritualism. He has a relaxed approach to his students, and encourages them to join in and experience the joy of working with and being in the company of spirit.
