Choosing the Right Course:

The Arthur Findlay College cannot assess each student individually before they embark upon a course at the college. The AFC reception and booking staff are unable to recommend a course that may be just right for you. To assist you in choosing your course, first read the course content details for the course, making sure you understand what the subject, content and full nature of the course is. Next, check the ‘Ability’ levels that the course is assigned and consider your experience, knowledge and suitability.

Most courses are categorised by Course Type and Ability.

For example: Mediumship & Mixed Levels

Please see the brief summary of ‘Ability’ descriptions below:

Mixed Levels:

Courses that are for mixed levels of experience and understanding are the only courses where students will be assessed. This will be done by the Course Organiser/Tutors using a questionnaire in the first session at the start of the course. All students will then be assigned to groups of students that are at the same or similar level, to ensure everyone gets the best learning opportunity.

Beginners:

These courses are aimed at those who have an interest in exploring and developing the discipline of the course content.

For Mediumship: Suitable students may have some awareness of Spirit and may even have felt able to give some level of Spirit or Psychic evidence, but this is not essential.

Intermediate:

Students who enrol on an intermediate course must already have some experience in the discipline of the course content.

For Evidential Mediumship: Students must have already demonstrated reasonable evidential communication from the Spirit World in private sitting and/or public demonstration.

For Trance Mediumship: Students must understand the nature of altered states of consciousness and Spirit Control.

Students must also be able to attain a reasonable level of controlled altered states of consciousness.

Advanced:

Students who enrol on an advanced course must have sound experience and understanding in the discipline of the course content.

For Evidential Mediumship: Students must have already demonstrated consistent and accurate evidential communication from the Spirit World in private sitting and/or public demonstration.

For Trance Mediumship: Students must fully understand the nature of altered states of consciousness and Spirit Control.

Students must be able to easily attain altered states of consciousness with full and disciplined control.
